REQUIREMENT

VISITORS 
(March 31, 2023) | Passive screening for symptoms prior to entry, complete visitor log 
Wear a medical mask when indoors – may remove when alone in resident’s suite (mask if outside room or another person enters room)
Masking not applicable if < 2 years old
Personal Care Service Provider – follow IPAC protocols, masking, hand hygiene and environmental cleaning after each appointment

Isolation/ outbreak: IPAC training required on first visit
Essential Visitor permitted (incudes External Care Providers) – follow Village direction re: additional PPE – including eye protection if providing care to residents suspect or confirmed COVID-19 and in provision of direct care within 2m of resident in outbreak area.
General Visitor not permitted
Tours permitted in non-outbreak areas

ABSENCES
(March 29, 2023) | Isolation/ outbreak: social absences on hold

COMMUNAL DINING
(March 29, 2023) | Permitted at all times with following in place;
Frequent hand hygiene recommended for team, residents and visitors
Masking when not eating or drinking recommended
Visitors accompanying residents for meals may remove mask when seated at the table with resident
Outbreak/ Isolation: 
Cohorted
Residents experiencing signs and symptoms of COVID-19 do not participate in communal dining until resident is no longer symptomatic and cleared from isolation.

ORGANIZED EVENTS/ SOCIAL GATHERINGS
(March 29, 2023) | Outbreak/ Isolation: 
 Cohorted
Group activities within outbreak neighbourhood may continue/ resume for specific cohorts (i.e., previously infected); PHU discretion

PRECAUTIONS REMOVED | March 29, 2023: 
Daily temperature checks for residents; daily monitoring of symptoms only
March 31, 2023:
Asymptomatic testing at screening
Active screening on entrance
Limit to 1 essential caregiver during outbreak

OUTBREAKS | Additional measures may be implemented based on recommendations of the outbreak management team and local public health

MOVE-INS/ RETURNS
(No changes) | From community or healthcare facility NOT in outbreak 
Screen on arrival
Daily or enhanced (twice daily) symptom monitoring
No testing or isolation required unless develops symptoms
From healthcare facility IN outbreak
Screen on arrival
Enhanced (twice daily) symptom monitoring
Resident to move into private room, wear well-fitted mask, if tolerated, when unable to physically distance from others for 10 days
To neighbourhood IN outbreak
Avoid if newly declared or uncontrolled/ uncontained outbreak or if neighbourhood has residents who are unable to follow public health measures
Permitted (if necessary) when resident if not immunocompromised and the following are met:
Resident is up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccination
Resident/ SDM are aware of risks 
Resident moves into private (isolation) room, ideally
Resident is asymptomatic on discharge & discharging physician agrees with transfer (if from acute care)
Screen on arrival
