REQUIREMENT

VISITORS | Passive screening for symptoms prior to entry; complete visitor log – name & contact information, date and time of visit and purpose (i.e., name of resident visiting) 
Wear a medical mask when indoors – may remove when alone in resident’s room (mask if outside room or another person enters room)
Masking not applicable if < 2 years old

Isolation/ outbreak: 
Essential Caregivers permitted – follow Village direction re: additional PPE
General Visitor not permitted

ABSENCES | Medical mask provided when leaving home
Provided handout to remind to practice public health measures such as hand hygiene and masking 
Screening no long required on return, unless symptomatic 

Isolation/ outbreak: social absences on hold

COMMUNAL DINING | Residents encouraged to wear mask where possible or tolerated when not eating or drinking
Caregivers and general visitors may accompany a resident for meals to assist with eating, however, they must remain masked at all times and not join in the meal
Frequent hand hygiene of residents, team members, caregivers and volunteers assisting resident with eating
Isolation/ outbreak: 
Communal dining may continue within cohorts
In-room dining for residents on isolation precautions

GROUP ACTIVITIES: ORGANIZED EVENTS & SOCIAL GATHERINGS | Group activities may consist of larger groups (greater than 10) – Village to promote safety & wellbeing (e.g., masking, good ventilation)

Outbreak: 
Residents remain cohorted for non-essential activities
Isolation: Unable to join group program/ dining room

PRECAUTIONS REMOVED | Daily temperature checks for residents; daily monitoring of symptoms only
Asymptomatic testing at screening
Active screening on entrance
Limit to 1 essential caregiver during outbreak

OUTBREAKS | Additional measures may be implemented based on recommendations of the outbreak management team and local public health

MOVE-INS/ RETURNS
(No Changes) | From community or healthcare facility NOT in outbreak 
Screen on arrival
Daily or enhanced (twice daily) symptom monitoring
No testing or isolation required unless develops symptoms
From healthcare facility IN outbreak
Screen on arrival
Enhanced (twice daily) symptom monitoring
Resident to move into private room, wear well-fitted mask, if tolerated, when unable to physically distance from others for 10 days
To neighbourhood IN outbreak
Avoid if newly declared or uncontrolled outbreak or if neighbourhood has residents who are unable to follow public health measures
Permitted (if necessary) when resident if not immunocompromised and the following are met:
Resident is up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccination
Resident/ SDM are aware of risks 
Resident moves into private (isolation) room
Resident is asymptomatic on discharge & discharging physician agrees with transfer
Resident can remain isolated until outbreak can be contained
Screen on arrival
Daily or enhanced (twice daily) symptom monitoring
