Home Care Assistance presents: Changing the way the world ages, with owner Tim Thomas…

Many families ask me: how can we create real quality of life for seniors?

I always answer the same way.

Good quality of life comes down to three key ingredients:

First, everyone caring for a senior needs to talk be talking openly and often …

Caregivers and families should be sharing updates and observations.

Is someone eating well? Repeating the same questions? Seeming off at certain times of the day?

Talking through what you’re noticing gives you a clearer view of how someone is doing overall.

No one should be left guessing about how a senior is feeling.

Secondly, consistency helps seniors feel connected in the world…

Loss of friends and limited mobility can leave seniors feeling isolated.

That’s why helping someone find purpose in their day is important.

Having a meaningful routine does wonders for a senior’s wellbeing.

Thirdly, and I can’t say this enough: don’t underestimate the power of happy…

Senior care can’t be task oriented.

It’s the little things that make the biggest impact on wellbeing.

From playing cards or walking around the block to enjoying some music... the right mix goes a long way towards quality of life.

A senior’s health is only as good as their emotional wellbeing.
