We are proposing this for a trial period of 2 months. At that point, or sooner if needed, we will re-assess the situation. *Our reasons for this reduction are as follows:* *1. Increase in expenses to around 11,000 per month* *2. Mom's resistance to present care level* As you know, Mom often resists care from Anita, Donna and Benedicta. Despite the hard work of the three girls, Mom refuses most outings that would engage her socially, mentally and physically. Lately, Mom has been sleeping most of the day. Often, Mom will become upset if the girls carry out their other duties in the house. Our thinking is that if we reduce the hours of care and give mom more time to herself she will be more receptive and appreciative of care. You will notice that in the long term we would prefer a short shift from 5 to 7 pm so that the caregivers could prepare dinner for mom. I realise that Home Care's minimum shift is 4 hours. If you cannot have someone do a short evening shift, we will probably consider a Meals on Wheels service for her dinner. I can chat anytime this afternoon if you like.
