Invoices are faxed in and they send a cheque. There was a delay this summer in faxing invoices but they currently have all invoices. I have been emailing them to Chuck and he has been faxing them in. MPI clients are assigned a maximum monthly budget and we are paid as long as we stay under the budget. If we go over, they will make us re-invoice. Each client should have the monthly max listed in their file. We use that to tell them how much they qualify for from us in terms of total hours per month. Self and Family Managed care is run through the provincial government with funds paid directly to families. Families are given a bi-weekly budget at a companion rate or personal care rate. Some get a combination of the two rates. Most who come to us get the personal care rate of $21.40/hour. When families receive SFMC, they do not have to pay GST on our services. Families are required to maintain a bank account which the government deposits funds for private care directly into. We typically do a direct withdrawal from the SFMC account. In some cases for SFMC clients, we withdraw the SFMC amount from one account and the balance owing from a separate account. In other cases, families chose to top up the SFMC account with their private funds. In all cases, there are semi-annual audits which families have to submit HCA invoices to the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA), who administers the program. Some families request that we break the amount of funds being withdrawn down in the notes section of the invoice. We would have to look at how many hours are being charged to SFMC (it would be a max of 55/week and in some cases less depending on the number of hours the individual qualifies for), multiply that out and then calculate the balance. For those clients I typically put a note on like this: SFMC account =3D 110 hours X $21.40/hour =3D $2354 Family account=3D (invoice total) - $2354 =3D $XXX Let me know if you have any questions on this or if something isn't clear. I'll work on getting you set up to the PAD system tonight and we can discuss. Thanks, Lindsey On Thu, Oct 6, 2022 at 11:28 AM Tim Thomas wrote: > Hi Lindsey, > > Hope you are well.
