Hi Gerard,

 

While preparing to send the second and final demand from Legal, I found out that the email I sent to the POC originally was undeliverable. In an abundance of caution, I sent it again this morning and gave them a new deadline to pay or contact us by May 22. (So far there are no notifications that it was undeliverable.)

 

If there is no reply by May 22, I'll send out the final demand.

Heard back from our PLP broker…this does sound like it would be covered by our policy, but only up to a value of $1K, and that’s not even considering our deductible. Would suggest we do not pursue this through our PLP coverage. Also, the below details from Cherly sound to me like a money grab by this client. If it were me, I’d tell them since the coat was in the laundry basket the CG aced in a way that was reasonable and we feel there is no fault on our end. Just my two cents…

Please see attached. I am not sure if you were part of the other thread but I did contact Celine who did not recognize the coat and could not give a value. Bloomingdales (where they apparently bought the coat) also said they do not carry Celine coats and could not give a value. 

 

Most of the coats on Celine's website are at most $6000.00 There are zero at the $20,000.00 USD which they claimed to have spent. There is no receipt of the purchase and we have offered $3000.00 as a replacement. Please also note that the coat was in the wash which is why the caregiver washed it. 

 

This was a client we had only for two weeks.
