We know this is becoming a big issue at senior living communities and in other environments where seniors are isolated, so we felt this would be a timely and valuable topic for your next PAC meeting. To help you facilitate a meaningful discussion, we have created the following tools (attached to this email): - *A list of five articles *that discuss the various factors (social isolation, loneliness, COVID-19) that are currently impacting cognitive decline in older adults in this climate. This document should be shared with your members at least three days prior to the meeting to provide additional information about what you will be discussing. That said, you can explain that it's not necessary for them to read the articles as the meeting won't focus on a specific case study, but it would be beneficial for them to have some background. - *A Facilitation Guide *that you can use to help guide the conversation. In the guide we have included an intro, meeting objective, talking points around how HCA is helping our clients and the greater senior community combat social isolation and prompt questions for the group, SLCs, SNFs/hospitals, and wealth advisors/financial planners. - One of our sales strategies this month is leveraging the *Uncovering the True Cost of Aging *deck (attached) and setting up pitch meetings with wealth advisors to discuss how HCA can educate your clients about the reality of long-term care costs and why pre-planning for this is a smart idea.
