Firstly we are so impressed by the communication and professionalism of your business and really appreciate it during this transition ! Second - we have really enjoyed the aides - as you said Sandie is a firecracker and really took charge. She is great and really pulled a long shift yesterday. They have all been great with my mother. Florence is also fabulous - smart and energetic - we actually slightly preferred her to Marlyn so if she is available for any night shifts or even during the day we would love that. She is very attentive and self motivated and really did well today. The care plan seems to be working well and all the aids seem to be very knowledgeable about it . Her physical therapy will start soon and she may need some encouragement to try and go and do some form of exercise every day even if she doesn't have an appointment. She has an appointment Monday at 5 and aides will need to keep track of her appointments. The dinner meals we've had there have been not as good as the lunch and so it might be that she may want to have dinner in the apartment a few nights a week . We have left some food and perhaps Marlyn or whoever's there in the evening will do some light cooking. She also is more tired in the evenings and so lunch might be her big meal and then she can do the movie or activity in the evening. We will see how it goes. We're leaving pre paid cards so aides can take my mum grocery shopping if needed. There is now a key made specifically for the aides on a red plastic tag that will hang in the cupboard at reception - when they arrive in the am they can ask for it . Evidently there is some concern with security so her place must be locked.
