--000000000000517b58061069c1c1 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Good Afternoon Everyone, As a reminder when we are working with clients we are there in a professional capacity and some topics are not appropriate to discuss with our clients or while we are at work. *Please avoid discussing topics of politics, finances, religion or personal concerns with our clients.* This is not appropriate in a work environment and can lead to uncomfortable discussions and feelings or even confrontation with a client. It's important to note that discussions like this can make a client uncomfortable to the point of asking for a new caregiver and we don't want to compromise our or your relationship with a client and their family. *Religion:* If you want to leave a nice note in their home please stick to something like "Have a great day" and please avoid saying things like "God Bless You" or "Lord be with you". I know these are meant to be thoughtful but it is often not appreciated by our clients. IF a client asks you to read religious material for them for example the bible, or play a religious song for them that's fine we can do so but unless it is directly requested by a client or their family please avoid discussing this. Additionally if a client requests this we should not be voicing our own opinions as it relates to their religious beliefs. *Finances: *We should not be discussing a client's finances or banking nor should we be discussing our own. If you have concerns about your finances, pay, or salary this should never be discussed with a client. TheKey is your employer not the client, and we are there to support our client not the other way around. We also do not conduct banking or finances on behalf of a client and should never accept money, gifts or tips from a client. *Personal Concerns: *Everyone has things going on in their life that can be challenging to deal with at times but if you are having personal troubles whether it relates to finances, health, family, etc. it should not be discussed with your client. We are there to be supportive and something positive in a client's day but they are not a soundboard for us. If you have things going on in your life and need to vent or discuss it please reach out to myself or another manager but at no point should it be discussed with a client or their family. We understand that you may develop relationships with clients or their family, however *it's important we don't cross professional boundaries. * Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Please let me know if you have any questions as it relates to the above information Thank you, Kathryn and the rest of TheKey Team -- Kathryn Nester Employee Care Manager ___________________ Office: 416-488-8777 TheKey.ca [image: TheKey] --000000000000517b58061069c1c1 Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Good Afternoon Everyone,=C2=A0 As a rem= inder when we are working with clients we are there in a profession
