Public Health has advised that the 1st floor go into a precautionary outbreak status for the next 7 days. Below are the precautions we are putting into place immediately: RESIDENT ISOLATION AND TESTING - All 1st floor residents will have twice-daily temperature checks and are asked to report any symptoms immediately. - Any close contacts will be rapid tested daily for the next 5 days. If symptoms are present, or if they test positive on a rapid test, a PCR te= st will be done. - Residents on the 1st floor will not have to isolate if they are asymptomatic, but must wear a mask when out of their suite. - Residents who have tested positive and have symptoms must remain in their suite for a minimum of 5 days. If their symptoms have been resolv= ing for at least 24 hours after their isolation period, they can leave their suite, wearing a mask at all times. DINING - Tray service for 1st floor residents will begin this evening (Wednesday) and will continue for the next 7 days. - Residents on the 3rd and 5th floors will be served in the dining room as usual. When an official notice has been given that the outbreak on t= he 4th floor has been lifted, those residents may also resume eating in the dining room. ACTIVITIES - Residents on the 1st floor who are not COVID positive or are not isolating may go outdoors and walk around within the community, wearing = a mask. - Residents from the 1st floor should not sit and visit with residents on other floors, or attend activities, until the outbreak on that floor = is declared over. - Residents on the 3rd and 5th floors may participate in activities as usual. When an official notice has been given that the outbreak on the 4th floor has been lifted, those residents may also resume activities. VISITORS - We ask that General Visitors not visit residents on the 1st floor at this time. - We encourage General Visitors to take residents on the 1st floor who are not COVID positive or isolating out of the building to visit. - When Essential Visitors come on site they must utilize PPE kits located outside of the affected residents' suites prior to entering. - Please contact RPN Supervisor, Janet Faber, at jfaber@luthervillage.or= g if you need to update the Essential Visitor list. *Please note that the 4th floor should be out of outbreak status as of midnight this evening, if nothing changes between now and then.* As always, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
