Though there are very few of our veterans left from The Second World = War, we know there are countless other veterans who served in so many other= capacities, from Korea to the Balkans and stations all around the world th= rough the height of the Cold War. We have loved ones of veterans living wit= h us as part of our wide family - sons, daughters, nieces and nephews - and= we think of all who have been touched by the sacrifice of war as we pause = on November 11. More than a century later as we look to current events and = the senseless, ongoing struggles in the Middle East, Ukraine and other part= s of the world, we see lessons have yet to be learned. In our remembrance, let us come together in collective hope for a peaceful = future. Growth of Schlegel Villages As we welcome new residents to Glendale Crossing Retirement, we are excited= to see their smiling faces and all the connections that are being made. We= are also excited to share that shovels are in the ground for two of our ne= w villages (The Village of Millers Creek ~ Ajax and The Village of Ridgevie= w Court ~ Milton). Our current timeline is that both of these villages shou= ld open Fall 2025. We are also expecting the Renovated LTC building at Wins= ton Park to open sometime spring of 2024. As you know, there are many facto= rs that contribute to construction happening on schedule so dates can chang= e if any of these factors are affected. Please note moving forward every quarter, in separate communications, I wil= l be providing build & progress updates for all new builds. Operations Conference 2023 Our annual conference once again took place in beautiful Niagara Falls. We = had really engaging speakers & sessions. They helped us focus & continue ou= r pursuit of cultivating a culture of exceptional senior care; growth & dev= elopment of our leaders and working on our mindset of holistic care. We had= residents from a few villages share their perspectives with us during a gr= een bench wisdom of the elder session. We also took time to connect & stren= gthen bonds with each other (something that is hard to do when we work in 1= 9 different locations in the province). We had a lot of fun on the theme n= ight with our Platinum Sponsors. We rocked our crocs on the rooftop of the = Sheraton hotel in Niagara Falls in honour of our company patriarch Ron Schl= egel.
