Unless I have misunderstood something, there will be specific days and specific times the two users will be needed to be added/removed from the on-call ring group. The 8x8 platform does not have a mechanism for automatically including or excluding users to/from ring groups based on a schedule. Ring group membership attributes are 100% manual. It will require an 8x8 administrator to manually add/remove the users via a noted schedule. I thought it would make more sense for your team to work locally in case the schedule alters unexpectedly. With you and Joey having ring group access and the knowledge of how to add/remove members, it would provide you all with maximum flexibility rather than submitting a ticket and waiting for IT to make the ring group changes. If the second option of adding the two users to the necessary on-call group one time, for the duration of the coverage needs, and having them use the 8x8 Do Not Disturb feature to silence calls when they are NOT needed is acceptable, that can be done quickly and easily by IT.
