Dear Clients and Friends, As discussed in each of our June 27, 2023 briefing note and July 5, 2023 briefing note , a temporary help agency ("THA") or rec= ruiter operating in Ontario is required to have a licence to operate. Init= ially, the deadline to have a licence, or to have submitted a licence appli= cation, was January 1, 2024. On November 10, 2023, the Ontario Government extended this deadline to July 1, 2024. As such, effecti= ve July 1, 2024, a THA or recruiter in Ontario must have a licence, or have= submitted a licence application, to operate. Any application already submitted is not impacted by this change. There is= no requirement a temporary help agency or recruiter resubmit its applicati= on due to the extended deadline.
