Hello, We had a situation in the Columbus office transpire on 10/4/24 where an accusation was made from an outside hospice nurse against one of our caregivers. The hospice nurse came in to complete an assessment to see if the client, Bob Meeder, qualified for services. After conducting this assessment the nurse reported to her director that the caregiver was dressed inappropriately and you could see her breasts and vagina and thought that the client should have STI testing done since he had been getting recurrent UTI's. After speaking to Ashley, whom the information was reported to at hospice. She said that she had not reported this information to the family yet, she wanted to loop us in first. I called the POC for Bob Meeder but was unable to get in contact with them. I asked our CSM Brooke to call the family as well, thinking that they may answer a familiar number. I called Wilma and advised that I would need her to come into the office on Monday morning to speak with her regarding her attire at work, I did not want to get into specifics over the phone. I also let her know that we may need to take her off of her scheduled shifts this weekend, depending on what the family wanted. After hanging up with Wilma, I received a call from Brooke advising that she spoke with one of Bob Meeder's daughter's and was advised not to remove Wilma from the schedule. She said that she would let Wilma know and then call Ashley from Hospice, I let Brooke know that she did not need to contact Ashley as I had already spoken to her. On Sunday 10/6/24 I received a text from Brooke, forwarding me a text from Wilma stating that the nurse accused her of statutory rape, she had been in contact with a lawyer and would be suing for defamation. On Wednesday 10/9/24 Wilma came into the office to speak with me. She brought the dress that she said that she was wearing. She started to cry saying that she felt embarrassed by the questions she was asked by Brooke, that she would not have sex with Mr. Meeder and if the family would not have believed her then she would be in jail. I explained to her that everything was hearsay and that neither the family nor us believe that she was inappropriate with the client. She then asked for the hospice company's information and the reporting information, I advised her that I could not give her that. On Monday 10/14/24 Wilma called me and said that she had spoken to her lawyer and if I don't provide contact information for the nurse then we are protecting her and not our workers. I let her know that her attorney would need to contact our legal team but I was unable to provide her with anyone's contact info. She was not happy and said that she would make sure that people knew how we treat our employees, and then hung up on me. I had made Tim aware of the situation as it was transpiring and was advised to get HR and legal involved since Wilma seems to be escalating. Attached are witness statements from conversations had. Please let me know if there is anything else needed on my part.
