Please take a couple of minutes and read through these 4 new initiatives being implemented by April 1st 2024. *1. Installing a Browser Plugin for Malicious Content Protection:* Rationale: Cybercriminals frequently employ various tactics, including phishing and malware distribution, to exploit vulnerabilities. By installing a reputable plugin, we can proactively identify and block suspicious content, minimizing the risk of compromise. What you can expect: - There will be a silent install pushed over the next 3 weeks to your corporate computers and you will see an icon like the below on the top right of the browser [image: image.png] *2. Enforcing Annual Password Resets:* Rationale: Passwords are our first line of defense and should be reset on at least an annual basis. What to expect: - You will be required to reset your password prior to April 1st. - Instructions to reset your password are here ( remember to update your new password on your iphone as well) . - If you do not proactively change your password by April 27th you will be prompted to reset your password at login on the April 27th. - You will need to logout/login with the new password on your mobile devices that you use for TheKey email on. *3. Preventing Sharing of Google Drive with External Users:* Rationale: *Sharing data with people outside of TheKey creates the risk of breach.* What to expect: - On April 1st we will be blocking all non approved data that is shared outside of TheKey - If you require an exception, please email ITSupport@thekey.com with =E2= =80=9C Gdrive Exception Request =E2=80=9C in the subject and include the email = address of the person you need to share with and the business justification for why you=E2=80=99re sharing the data. - All requests will be reviewed and responded to within 3 business days. *4. Disabling USB Storage Devices from Corporate Computers:* Rationale: *USB storage devices are typically used for large data files. Lost or unattended storage devices can lead to data breaches and/or delivery of malware.* What to expect: - On April 1st we will be disabling the option to use USB storage devices on corporate machines. - If you require an exception, please email ITSupport@thekey.com with a valid business justification for your computer to be excluded. - All requests will be reviewed and responded to within 3 business days. Thank you for your cooperation.
