Also is this an injection or just oral medications? I saw something recently that long term care homes are now being authorized b= y the Ontario government to have psw=E2=80=99s do certain medications, which= is why they are doing new trainings for it so it=E2=80=99s definitely going= in that direction with PSW=E2=80=99s. I think this is a good training so ou= r staff are trained and have a clear understanding of giving medications but= I also worry about liability here. We also don=E2=80=99t send strictly psw=E2= =80=99s into these homes. Some staff won=E2=80=99t be comfortable with it I k= now but for those that are if I would want it to be select people that we ar= e confident in and have prior experience or nursing background not a brand n= ew psw student with no caregiving history who is often assigned.
