I was told by the previous aide agency in Canada a CCA (client care attendant) is the designation for the highest level of aide training/certification and only 2 of the 10 aides on Anna's case last year were CCA's, the other 8 were, I was told PSW's (personal service workers) and that PSW's were often trained by their agency and had much less training as that training was officially certified. However the CCA's attended an official certification course.with more training than the PSWs receive. If that is not the case please let me know what is. Here the highest level of aide certification is a CNA (certified nursing assistant), again with more training and skill and the other level is a HHA (Home Health Aide) who does take an official certification course, but it is not as extensive. . In my research re home care workers in Canada it seemed you had many levels of certifications or roles, most of which would not apply to Anna. Cheryl, great to meet you. Some of the multiple Baddeck providers I have gotten to know over the 7 years I have worked on arranging and supervising Anna's care there may be known to you and I hope you and I will connect at some point soon. Tim, seems like I should cc Cheryl on the information I am about to begin sending you. There is a lot to send, so I plan on sending it to you in small amounts and will also be sending more historical information about providers there and about the generations of profound attachment to Baddeck Anna has had Her paternal grandfather purchased many acres of Mi'kmac land long ago and established a hunting lodge. Anna went there almost every summer of her life and usually stayed from late June through mid to late October, leaving after Celtic Colours and your Thanksgiving. The cabin is not insulated and has no heat except stone fireplaces and space heaters. So whom every you recruit should be aware.
