This decision has been made because candidates tend to only provide the names of individuals who will say good things about them (therefore we haven't found it to provide any true insight) and this step is significantly increasing the time it takes to clear a candidate for hire. We don't currently require any experience, and doing so may severely limit our available candidate pool. I'd like to take a deeper dive with Diane into the quality issues she is seeing to see if there are other ways I can work to increase the quality of our hires. I think perhaps the new implementation of hiring manager interviews may help as well. Is it ok if I reach out to her?
