They haven't disclosed which company they chose yet, as they haven't notified the other party. Shellie stated she would let me know once they do. As you know, they were impressed with our (your) presentation, but the decision came down to the nursing aspect and the fact that we would need to go through a third party. She also mentioned that TheKey currently does not have a strong presence with the residents at the community. This *will* change! In my opinion, I don=E2=80=99t think our current presence tr= uly impacted their decision, but that=E2=80=99s just my perspective. I understand the disappointment this news brings to the team, especially considering how hard you all worked on this. From my initial understanding=E2=80=94although I wasn=E2=80=99t involved at that time=E2=80= =94nursing was not supposed to be part of the overall package. Here's some insider insight from my time with Erickson regarding this program: it's very much a temporary initiative. They've already pushed the start date to the second quarter of 2025. Personally, I don't believe many residents will take advantage of this program once they realize the costs, compared to having home care and waiting to move only once when they need CC. Under the current setup, residents would have to move to a Catered Living apartment and then relocate to Continuing Care (CC) when a suitable bed becomes available. Erickson has tried this program at a few other communities, but it hasn=E2=80=99t gained much traction. In some cases, it = was temporarily successful, but overall, it didn=E2=80=99t last long. To my kno= wledge, the only other Catered Living program at an Erickson property is scheduled to end in late 2024. When I was at Tallgrass, the biggest concern=E2=80=94and something other CC= RCs used against us=E2=80=94was the ratio of Independent Living (IL) to CC beds. The perception was that there was "no room at the inn." This wasn=E2=80=99t ent= irely true. Yes, we occasionally had to move a resident off-campus to another CC because we were full, but more often than not, the resident had initially declined a chance to move to CC and then later had a triggered immediate need. Having an alternative option available if CC was full was a valuable selling point to reassure prospects and combat that rumor. Currently, Tallgrass has availability for IL residents to move in. They don't accept external applicants for CC at this time, but once the expansion is complete (likely within the next three to five years), they will begin accepting externals for CC again. I learned this recently from their Health Care Counselor. Although this outcome is not what we hoped for, I wanted to share my th
