The caregivers do work a 13 hour day, but for overtime and Sick Leave calculations each day is considered 8 hrs. So five live-in days is the equivalent of a 40 hour week. This is because the day is calculated as 8 hours at regular time and 5 hours of overtime. Will that cause confusion if a client sees 13 hours as " hours of care" and is then billed overtime when a caregiver works a sixth day? I do manually have to adjust the rate for the sixth day when this occurs as payroll and billing do not automatically bill the time and a half rate.
