North Lodge concerns To: Allison Brennan Allison, Basically, there is a kitchen staff1( 9-9), kitchen staff 2(one on one with Cory, a resident), med staff, wing staff( East wing and west wing where care is required), and one on one with the resident Ashley. So total there will be 5/6 staffs in general. Each staffs are supposed to do their own duties. Meaning, if the kitchen staff is HCA, whole kitchen duties are theirs. Sometimes ,if I am assigned Wing, I only do wing duties. The only staff who is supposed to help other staffs are Ashley=E2=80=99s one on one. However, many HCA staffs dont know they are supposed to help and think all they have to do is watch Ashley. As for the duties- As a kitchen staff, I have to toilet two guys every 2 hours, cook lunch and supper, chop vegetables for salad, clean the kitchen, prepare snacks at 3pm and 7pm, sweep and mop the floor , clean tables after every meal(lunch, snack, supper, snack), do the dishes( if the dishwasher is not working, have to follow the 3 sink method). One of the resident, Darrell is very difficult to do and he says No No with changes all the time.Nobody will help you willingly with Darrell. But if you call somebody, they might help. For a new HCA staff, he is an absolute nightmare. As I said, the guys and kitchen is my responsibility, so nobody interferes. When I arrive at 9am, there will be a pile of dishes ( from breakfast). I have to start from there. So overall, these kitchen duties are a bit overwhelming for any HCA staff. Since I am soo used to it, I find it okay but others might not. Nobody will help me with anything, literally anything, but nobody will help each other unless asked.I noticed that when the same 9-9 shift is done by north lodge staff, the other kitchen staff will help, which is unfair. And the only place where is there constant work is Kitchen, all other wing staffs can relax but I am literally standing for 12 hours. Since they know me well, they told me to sit whenever I want and treat me like theirs. To answer your question, I have never seen NL staff relaxing and directing HCA to work. They are working an
