This toolkit is being worked on by the Toronto office of Littler. They have asked for feedback from all of our Ontario and British Columbia offices (Quebec will be added later due to the complexity of their laws). I have copied the questions Littler drafted below. Please reply to me quickly so we can get this great tool completed. - How is pay currently calculated? - Hourly? What is the range of hourly rates of pay (if the rate is not uniform)? - Daily rate? What is the range of daily rates of pay (if the rate is not uniform)? - If hourly, what hours are currently excluded, if any (i.e. non-compensable time)? - How, if at all, is travel time compensated? - Travel time to/from work (i.e. commuting)? - Travel time between clients? - Are employees provided with transportation to/from client homes or do they arrange their own transportation? - Current overtime practice =E2=80=93 how is overtime compensated? - Is overtime paid and, if so, how is it calculated? - Is time off in lieu of overtime pay offered? - Is a portion of wages ever allocated to other items such as meals, or room and board? - Sleeping quarters: - When employees work for either a 24-hour or =E2=80=98night=E2=80=99= shift, are they given private sleeping quarters? - Current practice for meal or other breaks: - Are caregivers provided designated break time(s)? - If so, -how often are breaks provided? -how long are the breaks? -are they paid or unpaid?
