Hi Tim,
Rita Darocha was a past client who used our services from May 1st to June
17th 2023.
When we started, the services were at her home in Waterloo 20- 28hours per
week.
His son, Dennis reached out to us and said that he wants a caregiver who
speaks Portuguese and wanted her to accompany Rita back to Portugal. He
said it will be only for 2 days and then our caregiver will return. He
agreed to pay for her tickers, travel allowance meals and hourly care. We
hired a Portuguese speaking CG, Gisele who was open to travel.
While the CG and Rita were in Portugal, he called me back saying he needs
to extend our CG's services for another 9 to 10 days, our CG agreed to stay
with her in the hotel and assist her with care.
He was made clear that he has to pay $40/ hour for our CG traveling with
Rita to which he agreed.
Later, he came back with an email saying that he was not aware that we are
charging him $40 per hour even during the nights when both Rita and CG were
sleeping.
After a lot of back and forth follow up, he said that he will not pay and
immediately his number was not in service and not reachable.
I believe, he has also moved back to Portugal and he thinks that he can get
away not paying us.
In a separate email, I will forward you the communication I had with him
during the tenure of care.
