Sandra has been tracking your mother=E2=80=99s diet on the days that she is present, for breakfast she typically eats yogurt, fruit, cereal and drinks juice. She eats breakfast around the time that Sandra arrives and eats lunch at 12:00. As requested, your mother has been eating lunch in the residence and Sandra has been accompanying her. Sandra reported that your mother has a good appetite and typically finishes the meal that the residence provides. She understands the importance of tracking your mother=E2=80=99s diet and she has been very vigilant. Each Tuesday, Sandra continues to take your mother grocery shopping, initially your mother was not interested in taking meal supplements however Sandra has convinced her to purchase Ensure the week before. I will follow up with Sandra and your mother to see how she has been enjoying it. Each week, as per your mother=E2=80=99s request, they purchase water bottles. Th= ey are left in her apartment and she drinks them during the day. During Sandra=E2= =80=99s shift, she reported that your mother on average will drink about 1, 500ML water bottle. She continues to encourage your mother to drink and monitors regularly how much is being consumed. We have stressed the importance to Sandra about getting your mother back on her feet. The bus at the residence has been broken for the last couple of weeks however Sandra continues to take your mother with her car. The weekly outings have been incredibly beneficial as it provides your mother with the opportunity to leave the residence and get some light exercise. In addition to the weekly outings, everyday, your mother has also been completing her exercises. These are done in the morning just when Sandra is arriving, I have asked Sandra if she can encourage your mother to do them while she is present so she can ensure that they are being fully completed properly. I have spoken to Sandra about your mother doing squats, as she knows your mother=E2=80=99s physical limitations and expressed concern given that she = has been having consistent back pain. I have consulted with our nurse on staff who also expressed concern and stated that it may further aggravate her back pain. Perhaps if you would like additional exercises, we would recommend consulting with a physiotherapist who would be able to assess your mother and review the exercises that her doctor provided to her. Let me know if you have any additional questions, it is a great opportunity for us to make any changes or new suggestions to care as it has been going well with Sandra.
