I am just heading out for a couple appointments but could probably talk around 4CST if you are needing to be in touch about anything. I just wanted to quickly touch base about caregiver wages. I had a request from Ariana (who is working in the office two days a week) to be raised to $17/hr because she heard Brian saying that this was our wage for certified health care aides over the phone. I got an email from Brian to add a new staff to payroll at this rate. I replied with a query about this and he said he offered it to her based on her availability. He said that Cindy did a mystery shop and that "$17 isn't even the top of the private market anymore". I am not sure if we are in the process of doing a wage evaluation, or if we have looked critically at what Cindy found, or who is approving offering higher wages (we currently start HCAs at $16 and leave room to increase to $17 based on tenure) but I wanted to make sure that this was brought to your attention so that we don't see an unexpected rise in caregiver wages.
