It is a difficult situation with her home being in BC and she is visiting family in Manitoba. While she was here, she contracted Covid and was rushed to the hospital on Sunday, July 17th with worsening symptoms. Dennis and Brian had found a caregiver to start on Monday, July 18th but due to her going to the hospital that caregiver was cancelled and then reassigned to another client. (As per Dennis, there are not many caregivers in Wpg that will care for a Covid positive client). My Aunt was then discharged from the hospital last evening to a hotel. Dennis and I had been in communications yesterday afternoon regarding my aunt being discharged and looking for another caregiver that could possibly assist. Family from Ottawa requested care to start today from 1pm-5pm for the next 4-7 days when she could then fly back home to BC. I ended up working on this with Luna who just called me back to say that they do not have a caregiver so I have had to call a competitor instead. My aunt also has a wound dressing to her forearm, but the Wpg office does not have any nurses on staff so we had to refer to another agency. Just wanted to let you both know.
