The lease of our current office space will be up this fall. I am waiting for some clarity from the landlord but it will be either August 31 or September 30, 2022. This is our primary office where all staff are currently working from. It is in our ideal location, but we have outgrown the space. If we were going to stay it would require some additional renovations and the rent would increase. We have a second office, which we were required to open when we purchased the second Winnipeg franchise. It has 2.5 years left on the lease. This is *not* an ideal space and, based on the set-up, can only accommodate 3 people, has no private office spaces and is not in a great location for the city overall. Between the two offices we are spending $7,089.62/month in rent. Neither would be a good standalone office to accommodate our growing team. We have found a new location which we would like to move forward with. It is larger than either of the other spaces (slightly over 2,008 sq ft) and would cost $5,145.50/month. It is already built-out and would require little work, if any. The plan would be to move in here and sublease the other space. I have already been in touch with the agent who helped us lease that space originally and they are going to start looking for a subletter. I am looking for your guidance regarding moving forward with this and how best to proceed. I am hoping we do not lose this opportunity as there is not a lot of office space in our neighbourhood and I do not want to miss out. Please let me know if any additional information is required.
