Thank you for your update. While I'm not surprised by the decision given the current changes within our Ontario operation, I appreciate the transparency. We are undergoing a comprehensive overhaul, including the introduction of a new General Manager and Care Management team starting in May. We remain committed to our mission of being the premier home care provider in Canada.
I am hopeful that Schlegel Villages will consider us for future opportunities, as I believe there is great potential for a strong partnership between Schlegel and The Key.

We continue to assess our agencies needs and our partnerships. We have decided to further reduce our preferred agency supplier base. Unfortunately due to our reduced agency spend and due to low spend from any village with your agency, as well as a few other factors, we will not be moving forward with The Key/Home Care Assistance as one of our Schlegel Villages preferred suppliers.
We will definitely keep your agency in mind should our agency needs grow again for some reason. We appreciate your support over the past years and wish you well in your future endeavours

Just want to ensure all our partners are aware of the new licensing process/legislation. Please advise if you are going to have any issues meeting the deadlines as set forward in the legislation.
As noted below, we will also be held liable if we are working with any agencies who have not met this requirement so we will need to know if your agency is unable to comply. Our understanding is that as of Jan 1st we will be able to search a database to see if our agencies partners are on the list.
“Under the new legislation, all Temporary Staffing Agencies in Ontario have until January 1, 2024 to obtain a license, with the implementation of the licensing regime starting from July 1, 2023. Agencies found operating without a license may face fines up to $50,000 or receive a “lifetime ban” for operating without a licence. Additionally, companies that utilize the services of unlicensed agencies will also be held liable, emphasizing the importance of partnering with licensed and reputable agencies”
