Nancy was having a mastectomy and her family wanted to have a caregiver on site for 2-3 weeks from 8a-5p to help her with aftercare. Her and her husband live in a multigenerational home with their daughter and son in law. Her son in law had a bad experience with his mother's caregiver and they wanted an American caregiver and only 1 person in the home, which we had lined up. The day before service started they changed the shifts from 8a-5p to 8a-8p, the caregiver that was scheduled for this was not able to accommodate this change. On the day of service Carrie went out to introduce one of our other caregivers that was not American but was able to accommodate their scheduling needs and is a good caregiver. They were taken aback when the caregiver showed up wearing a hijab. Carrie said that right after she walked out of the house the son in law told her that they will not need anyone moving forward. The husband then called Carrie and said that Linda was recovering better than they thought and they didn't need the caregiver and her to leave but would still pay her for the day. I believe that Jen looked at this as a buildable case since Linda was recently diagnosed with Dementia, but they were only looking for care for 2-3 weeks so this case was ST intention. Please let me know if anything else is needed.
