Schlegal requires a ton of certifications before our PSW's can go into their facilities and we have quite a few of their facilities we work in and numerous caregivers working there as well. Attached is their list of requirements. Oakville/Waterloo had CG's completing care academy courses that were the equivalent to these certifications. I've gone through the ones that match up and there are at least 11.6 hours of courses to complete. (There are a number of videos 2-4 minutes long that make up the 40 minutes (0.6hr) I'm wondering if they can just watch short videos for certificates instead of hr long courses, but not sure this will work for all requirements) I understand we are paying for all mandatory training now. This is a lot that is out of pocket for HCA just to work within their facilities, especially if a caregiver is sent there as a one-off. I'm wondering what can be done here and if this needs to be put back on the facilities somehow? Let me know how you want to proceed.
