He is an inexperienced leader with no prior experience of managing a P&L. It would be quite a stretch for him, but if Tim is willing to support him for 6-9 months, he may proved to be strong enough. However, I would recommend that he becomes an Interim GM with the opportunity to prove himself and be formally promoted in 9 to 12 months if he is doing a good job. I am not sure if this is something that we can consider, but wanted to recommend it. Unfortunately, he is inexperienced enough to not know what he does not know= . *Strengths:* Recommended for the role by current manager. Has been with HCA in Canada for three years and promoted after 18 months. Started in HR, so has a good understanding of the nuances of the Canadian market. Team oriented (strong sports background with frequent leadership responsibility) *Areas for further discussion:* Highly ambitious with a strong opinion of own abilities =E2=80=93 Does not = seem to be that aware of what they do not know. Very limited exposure to a P&L (has been brought into the Montreal Month End Finance Review for the last two months). Limited people management experience. It should be noted that his IDA has three red derailers (Colorful, Diligent and Dutiful) with an overuse in Ambition and Sociability. Please let me know how I can help moving forward. Keep safe and stay well With kind regards Duncan *Duncan Taylor PhD *(He/Him/His) Head of Leadership & Executive Recruiting *Please note my email has changed:* duncan.taylor@thekey.com Office: 858-526-3515 Cell:503-877-9377 TheKey.com [image: TheKey] Connect with me on: --0000000000001124cb05da5d13a1 Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi Tim and Angie, I have had the opportunity of meetin= g with Joey Taylor in connection to his potential promotion to the Montreal= GM position.
