YES Client Narrative: Ron Miller is calling for his mother, Sally Miller. Poor Sally has been through a lot. Three weeks ago Sally slipped from bed to the floor and was unable to get herself up so she crawled to her phone. In the process she cut her hand on something and ended up with a staph infection. The Emergency Room team at the 1st hospital ( sorry, I don't have the name) discovered an old fracture in Sally's index finger which seemed to distract them from the staph infection. Sally ends up going to First Community Village Rehab with out having the infection treated. After 6 days her pain was so horrible and the Rehab insisted Ron bring her back to the ER- this time to Doctor's Hospital West. They immediately identified the trouble and started Sally on IV antibiotics. That was Monday, 12/9. Sally is feeling better, her mind is more clear. She is walking with a walker and assistance to the bathroom. She is no longer on Oxycodone for pain. Sally will most likely be discharged tomorrow afternoon. Ron refused to have her go back to a rehab and is preparing her home for her recovery. Sally now has a port and will still receive IV antibiotics for another 2-3 weeks to be overseen by a daily nurse's visit. She will received HH, P/T and O/T.
