So as we discussed, since your mom has been approved for CLSC support under the cheque emplois program, our services will be sales tax exempt moving forward. Please also note that clients who pay for private home care services and who concurrently receive home care services rendered by the CLSC, are exempt from paying taxes on our services. In order to benefit from this tax exemption, you must be actively receiving home care from the CLSC and provide proof from them. The CLSC can provide you with a letter stating that you are receiving their services and as of when. In addition, you must advise us of any change in or cessation of the services rendered by the CLSC. If you would like to consult the tax exemption information, please visit the following link: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pub/gi/gi-166/gi-166-e.html If you can have the confirmation letter to us prior to Monday's billing, we can make the change effective. Note that I'm out of the office as of 2pm today until Monday. Please send the letter directly to Sandra Daoust at sdaoust@homecareassistance.com In order to recoup any back taxes paid, you will need to make an application directly to the provincial and federal governments, as of the date your mom was approved for Cheque Emplois. I've attached the two forms. You will need to include all of our invoices within the application. If you don't have them let us know and we can resend. Regarding Ashley on the cheque emplois program. I'll speak with her to see if she's able to wait the potential 5 week period for her first pay from the CLSC. Since her wage is higher than what the CLSC pays (average rate for a personal support worker) we will pay her an adjustment. If she's unwilling to wait the potential delay period, then we could essentially give her an advance which she would have to repay upon receiving her first CLSC payment. Let me know if you have any additional questions. Best, Tim --=20 *Timothy Thomas* *Director of Client Care & Development* *Home Care Assistance (Montr**=C3=A9**al) Inc.* *4464 Ste.
