NOTICE AND CERTIFICATION OF ESSENTIAL SERVICES PROVISION FOR CAREGIVERS PROVIDING HOME CARE TO OLDER ADULTS
Dear Lisa Zucker
The team at Home Care Assistance would like to inform you that the Quebec government has shut down all non-essential services across the province. As a caregiver, you are providing in-home support services for vulnerable older adults as an employee of Home Care Assistance (Montreal) Inc. These services are considered “essential services” by all provincial orders because they provide “a direct and immediate impact on the health and safety of Quebecers” and continue to support keeping elderly populations in their homes. Therefore, your caregiving services are considered essential activity that should continue without interruption. We expect that your shift will continue, unless you hear otherwise from your staffing manager. Thank you for your continued service and let us know if you encounter any challenges or unusual activity in your clients' residence or community. We recommend that you keep a copy of this certification with you and present it to a local officer or agency requesting information about the reason for your business travel. Please also have your ID badge and/or confirmation of employment, as well as any relevant certifications (i.e., CPR/PDSB) on hand with you commuting to and from your clients. Our number one priority is the health and safety of our clients, caregivers and community partners. As such, please continue to practice the infection control and safety guidance provided to you and remain in close contact with your office for updates.
