Lives in a very large house built in the 1970s. She was taking care of herself with help from me and my brother but she has fallen several times and is now in rehab. She is not always nice so she needs someone who will be able to handle her. We at least need someone at night, but at first it would probably be 24 hours. Help her get around, get into bed, get to the bathroom, especially at night. She does have Lifeline. Still in a wheelchair and PT is trying to get her to walk but she refuses at times. Daughter doesn't want her driving. Took rollator away and daughter has replaced it with a regular walker. Client takes Ambien to sleep and when she wakes up, she sometimes doesn't know where she is. Client is 85-years old and had a fall in October and hurt her back and is always in pain due to compression fractures in her back. She's stubborn and doesn't want to leave her home. Client is not eating enough, eating junk food, doesn't want to cook, is extremely picky with food. Likes sugary snack foods. Doesn't drink enough water b/c she doesn't want to go to the bathroom. She's a retired RN. When she eats, she has diarrhea and has issues with her intestines. Wears Depends. Hurt her right rotator cuff and she is right-handed. Has a 5-bedroom ranch house. Needs: 24/7 care, help getting in/out of shower (has grab bars and shower chair) and standby, may need help getting on/off toilet, possibly needs help with personal hygiene after using bathroom. Family support/friends: 2 kids in St. Louis, has a couple friends Primary cg duties: Drove client to doc appts and to hair appts Activities/Hobbies: Painting, crossword puzzles, watch tv and football (loves KC Chiefs) and watches golf. Goals: Do her laundry on her own, not need someone all day long, keep as much independence.
