One thing we may want to keep in mind as we review policies is that while some clients may have increased daily benefits due to inflation riders, reimbursement is often still limited by other factors. Many LTC policies also have approved Plans of Care that cap the number of reimbursable hours. Additionally, some policies have lifetime or pooled benefit limits, so increasing rates can sometimes impact how quickly those benefits are exhausted, and some policies have the option to opt out of their inflation rider. Because of that, fully maximizing riders would likely require considering a combination of the policy benefit, the authorized plan of care, and the current bill rate to identify where adjustments would actually make a difference. Prioritizing locations with higher LTC concentrations could definitely help us identify potential opportunities. Happy to help think through what that review might look like and partner on this.
