Hiya!

Yes so I’m counting the original article as one market – and then I’m doing 4 more local versions – thinking the first version is one local market. It’s the base, and then I create four additional localized versions of it (most of the work goes into researching and writing that original).

Does that make sense? Or would you want the original article to be “Canada”, and then four regions?

Thanks,
AO

Thanks Amanda,

For the localization option - To confirm, this is 3 40% unique articles per market, at 5 markets = $3360/month?

Hi Tim!
Hope you had a nice weekend! Thanks for the additional detail below. I looked back at the quote from the fall, and have put together an estimate on pricing. We could do this for July, August, September and then evaluate how it’s going and see what’s working/what might need tweaking, etc. That said, I wouldn’t be able to share content until July 17 (June is just too booked already). I would just need the list of SEO words to start brainstorming the topics, get them validated with you, and then I could write in July.

In terms of pricing, have a look below and let me know if you have any questions at all.

Thanks so much for thinking of me.
AO

Original 500 word article
Localization of original 500 word article
Initial 15-minute kick-off
conversation or email validation

Research and write article

Approximately two
rounds of edits (with flexibility to make sure everyone feels great about the final product)

Final proofreading ahead of publication

Potential 15-minute interview to gather a local testimonial – this information could also be provided by emailing questions to a client, employee or other stakeholder

Unique Introductions and conclusions: Ensure each localized article has a unique introduction and conclusion that mention specific local details, events, or issues. Ideally 40% of the article is unique

Local keywords and Resources: Integrate local keywords and include links to local resources such as community centers, healthcare providers, and regional organizations.

Incorporation of one round of edits and proofreading ahead of publication

$700 CAD per article X 3 per month
= $2,100 CAD/month
$280 CAD per additional market X 3 per month
= $3,360 per month

Hi Amanda,

I appreciate your insights and suggestions. Here's what I think.

Timing and Capacity

The timing you’ve proposed works well for us. Setting delivery dates in mid to late July, August, and September for the batches of 15 articles sounds perfect. This will give us a structured timeline to follow and allow us to assess the performance. If you can deliver any in the month of June that would also be great.

Localization Strategy

Regarding the localization of articles, there are a few important considerations:

1. SEO Benefits: Localizing articles does have potential SEO benefits, as it can improve our rankings for local searches. Including local keywords, links, and references can signal to search engines that our content is relevant to specific areas, which can boost local search rankings.

2. User Experience: Localized content can enhance the user experience by making the articles more relevant and personalized to the reader’s location. This can lead to longer page visits, lower bounce rates, and higher engagement, which are positive signals for SEO.

3. Cost-Effectiveness: While creating fully localized articles might be more resource-intensive, starting with partially localized content can still offer significant benefits. We can evaluate the performance of these localized articles and decide if further localization is warranted.

Recommended Approach

Based on these points, I recommend proceeding with the following approach:

• Unique Introductions and Conclusions: Ensure each localized article has a unique introduction and conclusion that mention specific local details, events, or issues. Ideally 40% of the article is unique

• Local Keywords and Resources: Integrate local keywords and include links to local resources such as community centers, healthcare providers, and regional organizations.

• Local Testimonials or Case Studies: Where possible, incorporate local testimonials or case studies to add unique value to each article.

We can also explore the possibility of doing local interviews to spotlight a caregiver in a specific market if it aligns with our marketing strategy and provides additional value.

Article Scope

For the initial plan, let’s proceed with creating 15 distinct articles per month as discussed. This approach will allow us to cover a broad range of topics while still tailoring content to local markets. We can reassess after the first few months and adjust if necessary.

Pricing

Please go ahead and send me a price for the full 15 articles as well as the reduced option. This will help us evaluate the budget and make an informed decision.

Thanks

Tim

Hey Tim! Hope you’re having a good day.

I’ve been looking at the new website and thinking about the best way to do this. Per your email:

  * Each month, choose 3 topics jointly with The Key, based on SEO key word priorities, for each month.

     * AO to research and five, 500-word articles for each of the three topics (I will create a base article, and then do some additional research to swap in local links, resources, references to regional organizations, etc. so that it feels local to the reader in each of the five markets)
     * Overall, AO writes 15 distinct articles per month for three months (initial plan)

Capacity wise, I wouldn’t be able to start until July – but I could likely set a date in mid to late July, August and September to deliver batches of the 15 articles all at once.

If that timing works for you, my next question is: are you sure you want to localize the articles per market? Is there an SEO benefit to this? Or are the same words and topics relevant to families looking for home care no matter where they live in Canada? I can certainly update the pieces based on how I’ve explained it below – or we could do local interviews to spotlight a caregiver in a specific market if that’s helpful marketing wise. But if you’re looking for the most affordable way to manage the project, I wonder if you really need local articles? Or just three, 500-word articles per month that speak to this demographic and audience no matter where in Canada they are?

Let me know what you think of that. If the timing works for you, I could send you a price for the full 15 or the reduced option above, and we could try it for July/August/September and see how the rhythm/volume/pace feels.

Welcome your thoughts!
Thanks,
AO

Yes we would have a list of keywords to target for.

As for the content. Yes we could have similar content and localise it for each market. Whatever helps keep the cost down.

Hi Tim!

Ok great and would it be how we started last year - one topic and then localize it for each market or you want a different topic for each one? Also would the topics stem from an SEO list you already have or would I have to come up with the topic ideas?

Thanks for all the info it helps me figure out the time investment and if it could all work.

Hey Tim!
Hope you’re doing well and having a good start to summer!

Thanks for thinking of me, that’s awesome! Do you have a general length of these articles in mind? And Is it writing all 15 at once or paced out over several months?
LMK and I will give you a sense of what’s doable and what it would look like budget wise.

Thank you! Have a great afternoon,
