It has been helpful in certain counties in NJ because of the difficulty recruiting. Many agencies in NJ have offered the sign on bonus. So I will admit stopping the bonuses may put us at a disadvantage. These bonuses like you said are from several months ago and we have not given out as much in the last couple months. We space out the bonus based upon how long the caregiver stays (30 to 90 days). I will alert my team to stop offering any new sign-on bonus going forward. I will quantify any outstanding bonus money that would be owed to current caregivers in their 1st 3 months.
