Sorry, I think I actually had part of that wrong - to qualify for severance in Ontario you have to be an employee for 5 years, which June is not. As of now she should only be entitled to notice of termination and/or pay in lieu of which would be about equal to the $932 plus vacation accruals. That being said, we could owe her more under common law if she were to fight it.
Please let me know if this is something you want to move forward with so I can set up time with our Canadian counsel and get the right paperwork going.
