Dear Team,

In accordance with Alberta’s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
requirements, we have updated and implemented several key policies and
procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees. Please
review the following important information and attached documents carefully.

*1. **Establishment of a Joint Health and Safety Committee*

Pursuant to Section 13 of the Alberta OHS Act, we are in the process of
establishing a joint health and safety committee. This committee will
oversee and promote health and safety initiatives within our organization.
We are currently working on finalizing the training compliance piece
required for this OHS mandate. I am delegated to share that four caregivers
and two field/corporate employees have expressed their interest in being a
part of this important committee. Our next step involves selecting a
training vendor to provide the necessary training for the committee
members. Once the training vendor is finalized, we will proceed with the
training sessions and officially establish the committee.

*2. **Regular Contact for Workers Working Alone*

As per Section 394 of the Alberta OHS Code, we are enhancing safety
measures for workers who work alone during both day and night shifts.
Regular check-ins are conducted by site managers or designated contact
persons.

Attached is an editable “Working Alone Guidelines” document for regular
contact, which excludes necessary contact names and numbers. Please fill in
the editable document with your site-specific information. This document
must be used as a standalone resource and distributed to all employees at
our Canadian locations.

*3. **Development of an Emergency Response Plan*

As per Section 390 of the Alberta OHS Code, we have implemented a
comprehensive violence prevention plan. This includes the “Respect in the
Workplace Policy” that incorporates both violence prevention and harassment
prevention.

*4. **Establishment of a Harassment Prevention Plan*

In accordance with Section 390.4 of the Alberta OHS Code, we have
established a harassment prevention plan, included within the “Respect in
the Workplace Policy.” This policy adheres to the highest compliance
standards in Ontario, CA.

*Action Required:*

1. Please review the attached documents thoroughly.

2. For workers working alone, fill in the attached editable document
with your specific contact names and numbers, and distribute it accordingly.

3. Ensure you read and understand the updated policies. Your
acknowledgement is necessary.

4. Distribute the emergency response, respect in the workplace policy,
client care & caregiver planning emergency preparedness policy, workers
working alone guidelines and violence prevention policies to all employees
via email (Caregivers, Field & Corporate).

Please save the editable document as a PDF after completing it and ensure
it is distributed to all relevant employees. For proof of receipt, I
suggest using a “Read Receipt” for this email. In addition, have several
copies printed for the OHS committee.

For any questions or further clarification, do not hesitate to reach out.
