Please see below the information I have for you.
Winnipeg Benefits Package Change Request
Current active staff on roster: 97
Number of staff that would currently qualify if we reduced the qualifying
time to be 3 months: 33 active that have passed their 90 probation and were
recently hired in the last 180 days. .
Number of staff that qualifies for the current benefits requirements (6
months waiting time): 20 - But 8 do not qualify as they dont meet the 30
hours/wk requirement.
Given the current 30 hours requirement: Staff that would qualify for our
benefits is: 12 and we have 3 that are actively enrolled and receiving
benefits.
Unfortunately, I cannot provide the stats on how we would be charged and if
we switch to having employees pay a certain percentage, but we can request
that from Canada life, as we currently pay 100% for employees.
We are losing some qualified staff to their other employers as the active
ones are not fully able to qualify for the benefits.
If we drop the 30 hour requirement, we can easily retain the other 33
active staff and potentially more as the other new hires qualify, this will
increase our retention numbers and we will be able to bring in better
quality staff.
Please let me know if more information is required. We can also do a full
one for Canada and see what we can work out.
I have some reading material I need to find that was used at CBI to get
their staff benefits and what their plan looked like, I will find it and
get that to you as soon as I do.
