Hi Brad,
I had a good interview with Lorna today. She is one of the high producing
leasing agents with Selection Group. Lorna lives in North Laval and is
willing to commute to the West Island. Couple things that I noted.
Positives:
- She has worked in the real estate market and senior living and is
willing to go out to hunt for more leads/starts of care.
- Passionate about senior care even though she can make more money in
real estate. Top sales award in 2019. Attributed to community
relationships.
- Has worked with docs/hospitals/social workers etc.
- She described her as attentive to details - researched HCA and asked a
lot of good questions on target setting and performance evaluation criteria
etc.
- Sees future is about where the wealthy seniors want to spend the rest
of their lives - home!
- When asked about the brick and mortar selling process in Senior Living
context, replied with a great answer - seniors coming into SLC are looking
for social connection and fit and she has to sell the community which can
be intangible as home care!
- Current target at Selection - 8 residents move in per month! Most of
her referrals come from agencies. Current occupancy rate is 83% versus 78%
target (COVID adjusted).
- Top competitors - Groupe Maurice, Chartwell
- Speaks three languages fluently - French, English and Spanish. Partial
fluency with Italian and Greek.
Something to look out for:
- Can she deliver in the West Island market - beyond Lasalle?
- Can she connect with senior leaders to talk about senior living
partnerships? - She knows Caroline from The Kensington.
- She wants to be closer to Laval. West Island is 20-30 minutes from her
residence.
- We need to meet her in person.
