I’d like to share an update from yesterday’s job fair hosted by one of our
community partners. The event was a success, with over 500 job seekers in
attendance. We had the opportunity to connect with many individuals
interested in caregiver roles, including candidates with nursing
backgrounds and registered caregivers who plan to apply with The Key.
Unfortunately, we were unable to conduct on-the-spot interviews, as the
facility did not allow for individual interview spaces. However, candidates
were encouraged to submit their resumes and apply online, and we received
strong interest.
In addition, we made valuable connections with two representatives from
employment-seeker agencies who may refer their clients to us in the future.
I was also approached by a representative from a large “mega” job fair
scheduled to take place in Vancouver. We have been invited in the past but
were unable to attend due to the $800 participation fee. I explained that
this cost is outside our current budget. However, the representative
mentioned that he has noticed our consistent participation in other job
fairs and will speak with the organizers to explore the possibility of
inviting us as an honored guest or offering a significant discount. I will
keep you informed if I hear back.
Overall, this event was another great opportunity to attract applicants and
showcase The Key within the community. Thank you for your continued
