As everyone I'm sure is aware, we are not legally permitted to do this (nor does it sit well with me, personally, that we are being asked to=E2=80=94but that's ano= ther issue). Tim, with your permission, I would like to send an email out to the entirety of Canada to more firmly establish that this is law and that it is strictly required that it be followed. Jennifer, I wanted to add you as well to review my verbiage and ensure it's accurate. Email draft follows: Good afternoon, I know the team is likely well aware of this already (probably more than I, as the resident New Jerseyan/Yankee on the team!), but I wanted to review it quickly today anyway. The guidelines set forth in the *Canadian Human Rights Act* (R.S.C., 1985, c. H-6) establish certain restrictions that prevent TheKey Canada Caregiver Recruitment from targeting or discriminating against potential new hires on select identifiers. Some examples of such identifiers include race, national or ethnic origin, skin color, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, and more. While we understand that certain clients may have a preference in caregiver based on some of these identifiers, Caregiver Recruitment is expressly prohibited by Canadian law from targeting new hires on these bases. Caregiver Recruitment does its best to establish a team with a wide variety of identities as we believe a diverse team of caregivers is a strong team of caregivers. However please keep in mind that a client's stated desire for a caregiver of a certain race or gender is not actionable data guiding which potential candidates may be targeted by Caregiver Recruitment. Thank you for your time, With each of your blessings, I will send this out to the Canadian team this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Thank you for your assistance, --=20 *Jon Eckrich* Regional Recruiting Manager, NY/NJ/PA & Canada 1450 US Route 22 West Mountainside, New Jersey 07092 908.615.8276 TheKey.com [image: TheKey] --0000000000004eb63b060400de9f Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hello Jennifer and Tim, I ha= ve been hearing rumblings here and there from some of my recruiters that th= ey are being=E2=80=94let's say "strongly hinted at"=E2=80=94t= argeting new caregiver hires on basis of race and/or gender due to client p= reference.
