Hi Hua,

As Smyth completed the tax filing that was up to the point of acquisition, I would think you are correct, and the cheque should go to the previous owners.  We were not involved in the acquisition calculations or the subsequent filings of LHC, so I cannot comment on what was paid by LHC and what was paid by the previous owner.

I believe Smyth has sent you the final tax returns and perhaps that will shed light on who actually made this tax payment.

If I understand correctly, this refund is related to pre-sale tax payable.  @Sara Rezamand<mailto:sr@humanityfinancial.ca>  Can you confirm? I don't see the $150K tax instalment on LHC's opening balance sheet on June 15, so it's not something we brought over.  If so, then this refund needs to be sent back to the seller (Lilina?).  But if the cheque is payable to LHC, then we'll probably need to deposit it to LHC's RBC bank account, and then issue a payment to the seller because she won't be able to deposit it directly.

Hi Sara

Liliana (previous owner of LHC ) paid tax for May 31, 2021 in amount of 150,000 and actual tax was less than this amount and this is why CRA transfer 24 K from RC to RT account and then refunded to LHC.

I attached two reports for  RT and RC accounts.

Other than the attached and the cheque, we have no other information on what this is for, as we don’t have access to the CRA account.  The last GST filing we have filed by your office was for the period ended Aug 2021 (with a balance owing of approx. 44K), and the subsequent ones were NIL filings.
