Timothy asked that I reach out regarding a taxation question. We have a care case that will begin in June in Nova Scotia. We presently do not have an office in NS, but the caregivers will be working directly with a client there, reporting to a care manager in NS. We are contemplating paying them out of either the Montreal payroll (Montreal acct) or Toronto payroll (Toronto acct). The other alternative is to create a payroll for Nova Scotia that is drawn on the Toronto bank account. All to say, we are not sure what the best option is in terms of taxation etc. If we pay them out of Mtl or TO, would they be required to be taxed in QC or ON? Your input is much appreciated.
