I have consulted further with my aunt and the Maxwell= about optimizing the effectiveness of the care hours. If three-hour shifts a= re not possible, then I think we will request one longer =E2=80=9Cearly=E2=80= =9D shift, as you suggested, and no evening shift. This would be from 7:30 t= o 12:30 (or possibly 13:00) for a total of 5 (or 5.5) hours. This longer shift would involve getting my aunt up, bathed and dressed in th= e morning, helping her with breakfast, helping her with lunch, and toilettin= g as required. In addition, Katherine has been really good about getting her= up and about for some walking, and I would be very glad if there were still= time for this between breakfast and lunch. With regards to the specific hours, I know that the 7:30 start has in genera= l been good, and I would not want to change that. I realize that covering l= unch and toiletting afterwards might go beyond 12:30, perhaps to 13:00, so w= e could leave that to the caregiver=E2=80=99s discretion. I do know that onc= e her lunch is done, my aunt is usually ready for a well-earned nap! Please let me know if this is acceptable. We have been pleased so far with t= he care, especially with Katherine=E2=80=99s work, and I feel that it=E2=80=99= s just a matter of fine tuning this to meet my aunt=E2=80=99s needs in the b= est way possible. Thanks very much, Roberta=20 Sent from my iPad Sent from my iPad > On Jan 31, 2018, at 4:59 PM, Corrina Masson wrote: >=20 > Hi Roberta, >=20 > I am happy to hear that the care has been going well.
