--000000000000fa64f605690ed6a1 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi Tim, We have discussed this at length and our positions is as follows: We know from the last increase (less than 3 months ago) we negotiated for Ashley's raise that you don't pay your employees more than $12 - so less than half of our "preferred rate" goes to your employees. That is your company choice - not ours. We assumed with this pricing structure, which is more than other agencies charge, you could pay for qualified people - which you assured us would happen. We agreed to a raise for Ashley, which we feel is still a very low wage all things considering, with no benefits, holiday pay, travel assistance or incentives. We agree with you - we don't think you can retain the quality caregivers you promise at the minimum wage HCA pays. We have seen that evidenced multiple times and now with Maya's departure we can't help but assume if she had been paid a decent wage she would have stayed on. If your overhead is too high to allow for a fair wage then you can't foist these problems onto your clients who are expecting the level of service you promise. We have gone through more than 12 caregivers I believe at this point - most of whom had minimal training and experience. We don't agree to a new 12% increase. We just agreed to an increase. We are hoping to work this out with you but we cannot accept these terms nor the uncertainty of future demands. My mothers care is not that complicated - yet we are still doing a lot of care management that should be managed by HCA. We are still doing far more and paying more than what we anticipated and then being asked to pay even more is just simply unfair. I hope you reconsider your request.
