Unfortunately, only families who receive* government funding* to subsidize their private home care services are exempt from paying the GST. I have looked into this in great detail and whomever you spoke with was misinformed or it was not communicated in a clear manner. It has always bothered me that we have to charge our private paying clients 5% GST but it is legislation. I hope this helps and I am happy to speak with you if you require further clarification.
