In terms of helping us to put together a shortlist of facilities that Adrian could visit, here are the things that we need to consider: - Semi-autonomous living - Within 30 minutes of her daughter (Tricia) - they are located at the corner of Wellington and Peel - Within 15-20 minutes of Jewish General - for her dialysis 3x per week - Transport to and from dialysis treatments - Comfortable *smoke-free* living - Social aspects that encourage conversation, sharing, culture, and learning/education (These aspects will help her tremendously in dealing with the loss of Ron and her questions around her purpose in life - one = of her more recent concerns) - Nutritious meals that are considerate of her dialysis requirements (Also - when she is sad, she hardly eats because she's not hungry) - Easy to use shower-stalls - Ability to use a walker through doorways and halls - Pleasant and enjoyable neighbors - folks that are smart and interesting like her! - Wonderful staff - bright, dedicated, considerate, respectful If we had 3-5 places that met these criteria, that would make Adrian very happy. I know he wants to cover all bases and would like to see some facilities while on his trip over the Easter holiday (he'll come in a few days in advance to explore them).
